With the implementation of a new national PD-legislation in 2017, the surveillance programme for pancreas disease (PD) was terminated.

The Norwegian Veterinary Institute monitor the occurrence of mycotoxin producing molds and mycotoxins in food on assignment from the Norwegian Food Safety Authority.

There are several varieties of Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) some of which are associated with animals (especially pigs), and are collectively referred to as LA-MRSA (Livestock Associated - MRSA). 

The Norwegian Veterinary Institute has a surveillance program on resistance in salmon lice towards medicines used for salmon lice treatments. 

The Norwegian Veterinary Institute (NVI) conducts crayfish plague surveillance in control areas, combat zones and risk areas.

Infectious laryngotracheitis (ILT) has not been detected in Norwegian commercial poultry flocks since 1971. Avian rhinotracheitis (ART) was found in a broiler breeder flock in 2003 and in a layer breeder flock in 2004, but has never been detected in Norwegian turkeys.

Norway is regarded as free from infectious bovine rhinotracheitis and infectious pustular vulvovaginitis.
