In collaboration with Animalia, the Norwegian Veterinary Institute aims to increase the number of backyard chickens submitted for post-mortem examination. The goal is to gain a better overview of the causes of serious illness and death in backyard chickens in Norway. The increased knowledge from this project is expected to strengthen the expertise of both veterinarians and animal owners.

APEC-Seq - Avian pathogenic E. coli in Norwegian broiler production - characterisation, identification of risk factors and prevention
The research project APEC-Seq aims to reduce the overall occurrence of colibacillosis in broilers and increase research-based knowledge regarding pathogenic E. coli in poultry.
