Gjennom å etablere et multidisiplinært vitenskapelig nettverk, skal dyrevelferd inkluderes i begrepet bærekraftig husdyrproduksjon. Detter inkluderer økonomi, miljø og sosiale aspekter.

The purpose of the project is to enable the farmers producing salmonids in RAS farms to move from experience based to knowledge-based decision making, thus enabling a more sustainable production with regards to production margins, environmental impact, health and welfare.

Formålet med prosjektet er å gjøre det mulig for produsenter av laksefisk i RAS-anlegg å gå fra erfaringsbasert til kunnskapsbasert beslutningstaking, og dermed muliggjøre en mer bærekraftig produksjon med hensyn til produksjonsmarginer, miljøpåvirkning, helse og velferd.
